Jentleman Sharp is a New Orleans native with a varied musical background. His introduction to music involved simultaneous indoctrination in various genres including, classical, jazz, blues, rock, soul, gospel, hip hop. folk, electronica, second-line and funk. He later studied world music as a novel fascination and incorporated what he learned from other cultures stylistically. As a child in theater, his love for musicals grew. He became a performer, composer and director through his education at Mildred Osborne, McDonogh 35, NOCCA, Dillard, Skidmore, The Jazz and Heritage School, Talented in the Arts (Orleans Parish) and a myriad of personal mentors. He is currently a principal member of the award-winning, Billboard-charting band Water Seed.
