cyan cian is a New Orleans Black girl playing and composing with devotion and duration. As a movement architect, scholar, and curator working with various interdisciplinary forms of dance, drawing, film, photography, and sound, cyan’s creative work mobilizes embodied memory and ecological play into a worldmaking practice. Concerned with notions of Black girlhood, spatiality, ecology, and time, paris is the founder and director of theShoreCollective, a community of artists curious about performance architecture, play, and ecology as choreography. cyan cian received her BFA/BA in Dance from Hollins University (2018) and Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography at Roehampton University, London, U.K. (2021).
