CHANICE HOLMES
DANCER
Chanice is a native of New Orleans. She is a mother, an internationally accredited performer, and an educator. Her approach to dance is deeply connected to where she is from. Chanice is an improvisational mover who enjoys the essence of a groove. This requires being present and intentional about listening to your own body and the sounds around you. Ultimately, it allows for deep play and exploration. Her approach creates a joyful and liberating practice that encourages experimentation and creativity. If you're interested in learning more about her techniques, you can attend her Afro-Grooves class on Saturdays at 11 am in Crescent Park through Dancing Grounds. Chanice currently holds the position of Program Director and Co-Leader of Dancing Grounds, a dance non-profit located in the historic Ninth Ward of New Orleans. The organization offers accessible dance to all bodies and ages. Chanice continues to feed her artistry and is currently a member of the Kesha Mckey Dance Company (KM Dance Project). Follow Chanice to stay updated on what she is up to next.
